Activity 217g: Student presentations of digital portfolios to the class for feedback. Student then makes any revisions prior to posting on the Internet, saving on a Zip disk, writing on a CD, creating a Powerpoint, or making a video. Approximate time frame for this activity is 5 class periods, depending on the content and length of time for each student's portfolio presentation.

One of the largest collections of links to family crests (coats-of-arms) on the Internet. The site contains links to information about different types of shields, purposes, heraldic history, and heraldic clip art, and many more informative links concerning heraldry.

2) Medieval Renaissance and Fantasy Clip Art (URL: http://thepageonline.com/medieval/clipart.htm)
Some of the links in this collection of clip art links no longer work, but the ones that are still active contain interesting clip art which can used in a personal shield/coat-of-arms construction. There is also a 1.2 MB shareware file containing heraldic clip art, which can be downloaded.

3) Shields, Knights, and Heraldry (URL: http://www.yourchildlearns.com/heraldry.htm)
This site contains a free downloadable software application which enables the student to create his/her own shield/coat of arms. There is also an instructions page for downloading and running the software, if needed.

1) Webquest Resources on Egypt (URL: http://www.dahlgren.odedodea.edu/Edington/egypt/resources.htm)
This site contains webquest resource materials, including a cartouche template (in ".pdf" format), for a "Welcome to Egypt" webquest.

2) Egyptian Hieroglyphics (URL: http://www.kidzone.ws/cultures/egypt/hieroglyph.htm)
This site contains a clipart table of hieroglyphic images in the Egyptian alphabet, which can be copied by the student for inclusion in his/her cartouche.

3) Ancient Egypt Webquest (URL: http://www.iwebquest.com/egypt/ancientegypt.htm)
This site contains a webquest with six missions, designed to teach elementary or middle school students about ancient Egyptian culture.

4) Guardian's Egypt (URL: http://www.guardians.net/egypt/)
An excellent reference site for Egyptian culture and history, with a downloadable heiroglyphic font program for Windows.
