What's Due and When

Welcome to 7th Grade Honors!

I strive to make learning fun yet challenging and related to life outside of the classroom.  I love to learn and believe that good teachers make students HAPPY that it's Monday!

In order for our class to run smoothly, it is important that you know what I expect of you and what you can expect of me.  Our class is a team, and each member of the team must work together to be successful.  We need to form a partnership between student, teacher and family to insure a successful year for all of us! I will give you my very best as a teacher.  In return, I expect you to give YOUR best as a learner.  My goal is for each student to become an independent learner, critical thinker and a loving, caring, peaceful human being.

Rules & Expectations:

1.                  NO ONE HAS THE RIGHT TO INTERFERE WITH THE LEARNING, SAFETY

2.                   DO WHAT IS EXPECTED AND DO IT THE BEST THAT YOU CAN!

OR WELL-BEING OF OTHERS!

·         Bring a pencil, pen, and paper to class every day.

·         Bring your library book to class every day.

·         No eating (includes gum!) or drinking in class (without permission).

·         Be considerate of others.

Be on your best behavior with a substitute.

·         Be in your seat and working on the Entry Task when the bell rings.

·         Be productive - Do what is expected?the best that YOU can J

Behavior Policy:

Students will be expected to follow the classroom rule at all times.  Any student choosing to interfere with the learning environment will begin the STEP process.  If a student reaches STEP 4 of this process, the student will not be admitted back to class until a successful parent-teacher-student conference is completed.  Please see the handbook at the front of your agenda for more information.

Homework Policy:

Students can expect homework an average of two to three times a week.  Outside reading is a continuous at-home process.  Work not finished in class will become homework and is usually due at the beginning of class the next day.  Each student will have an agenda and will be expected to keep it up-to-date.  Organization and planning ahead are essential for a successful year.  Per grade level policy, late work will NOT be accepted.
