Goals:

This elective course provides additional time and support to facilitate student success in Math class. To assist students in assuming responsibility for their learning and in becoming more effective learners, Mrs. Davis will:

• emphasize the importance of good study skills to student success
• inform students of the knowledge, skills and study behaviors that will help them to be successful in class
• help students assess their study skills strengths and weaknesses (including learning style preferences and strategies)
• give students clear directions and frequent opportunities for progress assessment, teacher assistance and feedback on class work

 

Grading:

• Materials - Every day, students should bring a book (for outside reading if math is completed), agenda and basic school supplies.  Work cannot be completed nor can assistance be provided if the work is at home…
• Participation - Students are to do what is expected and do it the best that she/he can. 
• Gradebook - Students may earn up to 20 points per day (100 points per 5-day week) for being prepared and using class time wisely.  This is independent of Make Your Day!
